Our Mission
We ask local schools and organizations to ask their children to draw Valentine’s Day cards which we collect and deliver to hospital patients, nursing home residents, and staff to bring some joy into their lives for a day. The cards are truly “made by hand, felt by hearts”.
What is our operation?
We are a 501(c)(3) organization, made up of all volunteers. We are supported by two foundations (the Kyle Todd Public Service Foundation and the Worldwide Small Change Foundation) as well as kind donations. We are a very lean operation, and we supply the boxes, envelopes, stickers, and printed materials to our volunteers across the country so they can work with local schools and hospitals in their area.
Who is Organizing This?
My name is Patrick Roy Kaufmann and I started this project in 2021 when I was a seventh-grader at the Washington International School. Until now, the focus has been on the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, but we are expanding this year. I hope that the neighborhood schools will join me in this fun activity to spread joy.
